Harry the Hippo's Favourite Treat

Harry the hippo's favourite treat,

Was a tasty gobstopper for him to eat

He bought a bagful from the jungle shop,

Where coming from the waterhole, he did stop...

There were juicy banana sweets and lots of other tasty things to eat....

Cola cubes, liquorice and bubble gum -

He scoffed the lot and ate every crumb

Harry the hippo shared none at all

No wonder he was a metre wide and three feet tall !

He kept the gobstopper to the end....

He dropped it once and it rolled round the bend...

To be picked up by his giraffe friend.

In fact, when tucking in, playing about,

His sucking caused his front tooth to wobble and fall out !

He looked in the mirror and gave a toothy grin...

Now there was only one left to tuck in

Harry the hippo took a trip...

Off to the dentist he did skip

The dentist took a look at the damage done....

Inspected the problem tooth - now there was only one !

"Ouch !" Harry roared out in pain,

"Please don't do that to me again !"

He polished it and gave the hippo a dentist clean smile,

Hopefully, he wouldn't be back in a

while !

His polished new tooth sparkled snd shone,

Glistening in the Midday Sun,

To all the other jungle creatures,

Harry's new smile was one of his most beguiling features !
