Esmerelda the Naughty Witch and the Crumpled Black Hat

Esmerelda the naughty witch didn’t much care for ironing at all,

Even for Halloween, when she needed to look tidy for the witches’ ball.

Her black cat had been upto its mischief as usual again …

It sat on her black hat and scratched the thread stitches loose - oh what a pain !

The button had dropped off her cloak, now worn,

The cat's scratching had made it it tattered and torn ....

In the sleeve, there was a hole,

Out dropped her mobile phone - which she thought somebody had stole !

Esmerelda magicked a spell to plug in the iron and set up the ironing board,

Around the room, the magic soared ! It magic the ball and a goal it scored !

The magic worked wonders, of course, as witches' spells often do …

But because of his mixed up mumbo – jumbo, she cast five spells instead of two !

Soon, the iron started pressing everything in the house …

It ironed the rug, the curtains and even ironed the mouse !

The spell made the sewing machine so magical, it worked all by itself –

In fact, it ironed every book on the bookshelf !

Soon everything was as flat as a pancake,

Including the duck floating in the lake !

Esmerelda's magic ne'er do well spell worked so well,

It magicked the garden and every blade of graass as well !

The iron ironed the flowers and almost completely squashed the garden shed,

Never mind just ironing the black hat, that should have been on the wizard’s head instead !

The wizard’s wizardry iron ironed the chimney pot as well as the tiles on the roof …

It even magicked the television aerial with a magical “POOF !”.

In the kitchen, the magic iron made the cupboards deflate,

It ironed the witch’s cauldron so well, it looked more like a plate …

No more bubbling or boiling witch’s stew …

All because of the witch, her spell and her magic iron, too.

The Esmerelda’s iron ironed the stairs, it ironed the table and ironed the chairs ...

Soon, the witch had nothing left at all, that measured over two inches tall !
