When Chuckle Buckle went fishing, he looked down at his fishing rod and noticed the worm was missing. Not much good for catching fish ... and a big, fat cod was his one and only wish. Chuckle Buckle sat by the pond, but no ripple appeared, though he waited quite long. Chuckle Buckle chucked in his net ... to see how many fish he'd get. A stork passed by and asked him why, he was sat by a lillypad - of course, he wanted a fish to fry, was his reply. But Chuckle Buckle was so busy chuckling, his fishing wobbled and he caught nothing. Not even a tiddler, nor the smallest frog (he only caught a cold, sat by the wet, watery bog !). Next Chuckle Buckle next caught three leaves ... and chuckled some more along with his sneeze. When it came to fishing, Chuckle Buckle was a real clown ! He quickly gave up and put his fishing net down.
1. If Chuckle Buckle caught one cod every 20 minutes, how many did he catch fishing for 8 hours ?
2. When Chuckle Buckle chuckled about, very soon, he'd caught a dozen trout ! But one of them of the net popped out ! What fraction, decimal and percentage is this ?
3. Chuckled chuckled so much that the frogs on the lillypads wobbled. If there were 60 lillypads, one third of them had a frog sat on them and 25 % jumped off when Chuckle chuckled,
a) How many frogs were there at the start ? b) How many frogs jumped off ? c) How many frogs were left ?
4. Chuckle Buckle chuckled 0.4 of the 240 tiddlers inside his net away. a) How many jumped out of the net ? b) How many were left ?
5. Chucle Buckle chuckled so much that he when his fishing rod wobbled, 1 : 3 of the worms on the chuckling hook fell off ! If there were 66 worms, how many worms were left ?
