Christopher the crocodile hadn't smiled for a while...
He'd lost his handkerchief in a sloppy mud pile !
As everyone knows, he cried crocodile tears...
So got a new hankie each Christmas for years !
His favourite colour was yellow and blue,
When he blew his nose, off his sunglasses flew !
So it was hardly surprising that ...
The handkerchief was no longer under his summer hat !
What was he to use to dry his eyes ?
He sobbed some more...to the fireflies !
The snake looked all around the ground,
The mole underneath the elephant dung mound !
Still no hankie ! Where could it be ?
What could he use as a serviette for tea?
Perhaps it was taken by a thief....
Or instead he could use a banana leaf !
It could had fallen beneath the coconut trees,
When last week he started to sneeze !
Or maybe it blew away in the breeze....
Christopher checked by the waterhole rocks...
Then suddenly got one of life's humungus shocks !
There sat upon his long tail, slimy and green,
Was the dirtiest handkerchief ever seen !
Christopher was aghast !
He'd found it at last ! Now his crying was a thing of the past !
