Christopher the Crocodile and the Lazy Alligator

Christopher the Crocodile was swimming around the waterhole as he usually did,

When he came across his friend with droopy eyelids....

The lazy alligator had been there all day,

Watching the world go by and the animals play....

"How's it going ?", the Crocodile enquired,

"Haven't seen you here for a while", he looked tired...

The lazy alligator gave a sly smile...

As he rolled around in the mudpile with alligator style ....

The pair of them chatted for an hour,

But it was getting late - it was half past four !

They talked about this and they talked about that....

The crocodile asked where the best dinner was at ?

The alligator didn't tell at all....

He said that he simply didn't recall

Anyway he wanted the best food to himself,

Though he mentioned the odd can of beans left on shelf !

"Maybe a nibble of coconut would do ?"

Asked the monkey as through the trees he flew...

Or even a fish ? The hippopotamus wondered,

When from the other side of the waterhole thundered

In sauntered the rhinocerous

Wondering what was all the fuss ?

He'd found a stale sandwich left on the bus.....

They were all so hungry - their bellies rumbled....

In this heat we haven't eaten for a week they grumbled....

So together they picnicked on tasty hyena...

Though bamboo shoots had more Vitamins and were greener....

They decided that a splash in the water would be cleaner !
