When the weather was getting much colder,
Christopher's shy mouse became much bolder...
He hid beneath the sleigh that outside was left to park,
And crept inside when the grotto was quiet and dark...
The mouse shot up the fireside....
Found a cosy stocking in which to hide !
He nibbled a hole to poke out his nose -
To smell Mrs Christmas's tasty mince pies, I suppose....
A flicker of candlelight lit the way....
He nibbled cheese all Christmas day...
As the mouse tidied up the baubles on the Christmas tree....
A hundred presents beneath, he could see !
When Christopher came downstairs for breakfast,
He almost tripped over the mouse that sped past !
He head off to the North Pole, into a hole,
A piece of crusty bread, the mouse then cheekily stole...
The mouse's whiskers twitched at the sight,
Of all the mince pies left for Santa that night...
Christopher had left a carrot for Rudolph, too,
(So it wasn't long before the mouse had a chew !)
A crunch on some popcorn,
A munch on some cakes...the mouse lunched on the quiche Mrs Christmas baked...
He couldn't think of anything greater...than the chicken leg in the refridgerator...
The Christmas mouse at Christopher's house really had a ball...
He ate a trail of mince pie crumbs along the railing all the way up the hall !
