The Telescope & Astronaut Sputnik's X - Ray Vision
Astronaut Sputnik was about to space race one day, When a large, grey cloud got in the way. As he tried to take off, the ride was bumpy and rough ... When he checked the deisel guages, it looked like there wasn't enough. The Sputnik launch pad sloped quite a bit, Making his orbit a bit of a hit. The engine was rusty, he didn't know where to begin ... In fact, his carburetta sounded like a rattling tin bin. As a shooting star splashed, his indicators flashed. It must have been his broken headlamps that caused his space buggy to crash. He bashed the space buggy as he turned the bend A screw fell off and the engine looked like it wouldn't mend. He put the thruttle into first gear, He was having difficulty trying to astro - steer. Some of the meteorites came awfully near, As he flew around the universe at a speed of a million light years. It didn't help that he was in such a hurry, He span off one of Saturn's rings ... and started circling Mercury. Inside the cockpit, Astronaut Sputnik couldn't see at all. Without his spectacles, everything seemed only two inches tall ! His eyesight was so poor, when he went to plant a flag, He missed and it landed on the floor. This was the longest launch that had ever been, By lunchtime, Astronaut Sputnik was still seen cleaning the windscreen. Astronaut Sputnik squinted rather a lot, As he tried to fix the indicator into the right slot. He hoped the capsule wasn't getting too hot, Or that the space buggy wasn't heading towards the ozone spot. Although he tried to focus for all he was worth, his mirrors misted and he bumped into Earth.
